The second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka, Haggala Botanical Gardens is picturesquely situated in the hill country, a mere ten kilometers (six miles) away from the city of Nuwara Eliya. The comfortable cool weather that prevails throughout the year compliments the exotic flora and fauna, creating a true paradise.

The Garden locally reputed for their rose collection. This rose garden established on a twin- terraced piece of land and it contains rose varieties imported from England and America. This collection comprises nearly 100 rose varieties, witch are old garden varieties very suitable for landscape gardening.
